The crew discovers they have been pulled to the actual location of the Horizon weapon, which was hidden away by the ancient thousands of years ago to prevent its misuse. On the surface of the planet, they encounter Daekon , a Romulan time-traveler from the 28th century. It is revealed that Daekon is the "mysterious man from the future" who orchestrated the Temporal Cold War seen in Enterprise . Captain Hawke and his crew must stop Daekon from using the Horizon weapon to erase Earth's history, ultimately defeating him and bringing the long-standing Temporal Cold War to a definitive close.
