In each area, Zuma must destroy deadly streams of rolling stone spheres by matching colors before they reach a demonic "skull emblem" that threatens to consume him. The Final Confrontation

The story starts with our hero drifting on a makeshift raft during a violent storm. He eventually washes ashore on an island ruled by the seemingly angry god and a tribe of menacing Tiki Gods . Upon his arrival, a mysterious hooded figure warns him that five Tiki chiefs guard the island's secrets and will do anything to stop him. The Quest for Rescue

At the end of each island region, Zuma faces off against a powerful Tiki boss in an epic confrontation. After defeating these guardians, he finally reaches the volcano to confront Zhaka Mu himself.

: Once Zuma destroys Zhaka Mu's physical form, the shadow god attempts to corrupt him by turning into a ball.

(Note: In the more difficult "Heroic Frog" mode, the ending takes a humorous turn where Zuma "rescues" a cheeseburger and a milkshake instead of his girlfriend.)
