The Immortal ( L'immortel ) ( 22 Bullets (Twenty Two Bullets) )

The film is loosely based on the real-life experience of Jacky "Le Mat" Imbert , a notorious French mobster. In 1977, Imbert survived an assassination attempt in which he was shot 22 times with 7.65mm bullets and buckshot. Like the character in the film, he underwent extensive surgery and later allegedly took revenge on those responsible.
