Use rubbing alcohol on shears to prevent infection.

Be patient. Some "mature thumbs" can take up to 4 weeks to show signs of life.

A little wrinkling is normal as the cutting uses its own water; deep shriveling means it needs more humidity.

Do not water until you see tiny pink roots appearing.

Leave the cutting in a dry, shaded area for 3–5 days.
