In the original 2011 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 , Captain Price and Task Force 141 track the Russian terrorist Vladimir Makarov across a world engulfed in World War III. The story begins immediately after Modern Warfare 2 , with Price and a wounded "Soap" MacTavish on the run. They eventually join forces with Delta Force and the SAS to stop Makarov's plan to destroy the Western world. In the 2023 reboot, Task Force 141 returns to stop Makarov from launching a chemical attack and inciting global conflict.
