The diagnosis was behind them, the hospital stays were a memory, and senior year of high school was finally here. Alexa and Katie stood in front of the familiar full-length mirror in Alexa’s room, adjusted their graduation caps, and shared a look that said everything they couldn’t put into words.

The resolution isn't about Alexa staying or Katie leaving. Instead, they spend the weeks leading up to graduation creating a "Legacy Box" for the incoming freshmen at their school who might be going through their own invisible battles. The story begins three months before graduation. Alexa, now completely in remission, is hyper-focused on the future. She has been accepted into a prestigious summer internship in New York City, a dream she’s had since before her first round of chemo. Katie, meanwhile, is grappling with the reality of staying behind to help her mom at the Wired Giant and attending the local community college to save money.
